Designed by Holman and Pye, the Oyster 68 was conceived as a high-quality long range Bluewater cruising yacht. Well known for its capabilities such as rounding Cape Horn and cruising the Patagonian Icecap, this Oyster 68 is constructed in heavy duty fiberglass to the highest standards.

Built in 1989 the boat was constructed specifically for sailing in the most demanding of conditions. The boat has an additional 25mm of foam insulation for travelling the Southern Ocean. Equipped with twin Mercedes diesel engines, and a layout that is made for blue water sailing. In addition, recent refits and constant upgrades, such as new teak decks, new canvas work, new propellers, and standing rigging upgrades.

The deck space is excellent & layed out for long distance cruising, with secure hand holds for safe movement on deck. There is good stowage capacity aboard, without compromising the headroom below. Whilst the rig set up and dual navigational controls above and below deck are perfect when at sea in adverse conditions, avoiding those watches in the cockpit exposed to the elements. Below deck, the layout is carefully designed to optimize the space. The saloon offers comfortable seating around a large extendable table, a dinette with bench seating around a central table with serving access to a well-equipped galley, a chart table area with ample space. The unique raised interior helming station with clear visibility through the coach roof windows is a very practical addition. Accommodation allows for nine guests in four cabins and has a double berth forward for crew. The interior finish is high quality, with the cream leather upholstery and teak joinery.

The boat is actually finishing work to comply with her recent survey.
